On October 12th, 2018 at approximately 1:06 pm, Aurora Dispatch received a call of a two vehicle accident at the intersection of South Parker Road and East Lehigh Avenue near the entrance to Cherry Creek State Park.
Aurora officers and rescue personnel responded to the scene and it was determined that one of the drivers would be transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. This driver was later pronounced deceased due to injuries sustained in the accident.
The Aurora Police Traffic Section will be conducting follow-up investigation regarding this incident.
The identity of the driver is not being released at this time pending notification of next of kin.
Alcohol and speed do not appear to be factors at this time. This accident results in the 24th traffic related fatality in Aurora for 2018.
