Man Killed In Morris Heights

On Sunday October 23rd, 2016 at approximately 3:36 p.m. officers responded to a call from 3195 Uvalda Street in the Morris Heights neighborhood on a report of an assault with a gun that occurred at 3190 Uvalda Street.

Upon officers arrival they located an adult Hispanic male suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. The male was then transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased. At this time, all involved parties are accounted for, and there is no risk to the community.

The identity of the deceased will be released by the Adams County Coroners Office once a positive identification has been made, and the next of kin has been notified.

Detectives and investigators from the Major Crimes/Homicide Unit and Crime Scene Investigations Unit have taken over the investigation. Aurora Police is asking anyone with information about this case to contact Agent Tom Welton with the Major Crimes/Homicide Unit at 303-739-6107
