Man Dies in Motorcycle Crash on South Peoria Street
(August 6) The Aurora Police Traffic Section is investigating a fatal motorcycle and vehicle crash that happened near South Peoria Street and East Archer Place.

On August 6, 2022 at about 12:05 p.m., Aurora911 received reports of a serious crash involving a motorcycle at the intersection of South Peoria Street and East Archer Place. Once on scene, officers discovered an unresponsive 36-year-old man lying in the roadway. This man was transported to the hospital for medical care but did not survive his injuries and was pronounced deceased a short time later.

Preliminary investigation indicates that the 36-year-old man was driving his yellow Ducati motorcycle traveling southbound on South Peoria Street at a high rate of speed. The motorcyclist collided with the passenger side of Cadillac sedan, which was making a left-hand turn from northbound South Peoria Street onto East Archer Place. The driver of the Cadillac remained on scene and was uninjured. No arrests or summons have been issued at this time.

North and southbound South Peoria Street was closed for multiple hours to allow Traffic Investigators the ability to collect evidence, photographs, and take measurements. This investigation is ongoing and will determine the speed of the motorcycle prior to the crash, as well as any other contributing factors.

The identification of the deceased will be released by the Arapahoe County Coroner’s Office once next of kin has been notified and they have been positively identified.

If you witnessed this crash or have dash-camera footage of the crash, and have not yet spoken to investigators, please contact the Aurora Police Traffic Section.

This is the 27th traffic related fatality of 2022.
