On May 25th at about 1:00 AM, Aurora Police and Fire-Rescue responded to a man in the roadway in the area of S. Parker Rd. near the 9-mile RTD station.  Officers found an adult African American male in the middle of the road, specifically in the exit lane from southbound I-225 to southbound Parker Rd.   Aurora Fire-Rescue personnel attempted life saving measures, but his injuries were to serious and he died at the scene. 

One motorist who believed they stuck the man stayed at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.  It is believed another vehicle hit the male and left the scene.  The victim was crossing in an unlit section of road and not within a crosswalk. 

This in an on-going investigation by the Aurora Police Traffic Investigations unit.  The identity of the deceased is not being released at this time, the Arapahoe County Coroner's Office will make notifications at a later date.

On May 24th at 1:53 PM, Aurora Police and Fire-Rescue responded to a crash in the area of E. Quincy Ave. and S. Harvest ST.  Officers found a silver Nissan Titan with an unconscious adult female and a black Ford F-150 with two adults who were able to get out of the vehicle with only minor injuries. 

The female driving the Nissan Titan was transported to a local hospital with severe injuries, it was at the hospital where she died of her injuries.  It appears that the driver and sole occupant of the Nissan Titan was traveling west on Quincy Ave. and crossed the center line colliding head on with the Ford Truck traveling eastbound.  

This in an on-going investigation by the Aurora Police Traffic Investigations unit.  The identity of the driver is not being released at this time, the Arapahoe County Coroner's Office will make notifications at a later date.   At this time, it does not appear that alcohol or speed will be contributing factors in this accident.

On May 21st, 2020, at 6:29 p.m., Aurora Police Officers responded to reports of a fight that led to a shooting at Utah Park located at 1800 South Peoria Street.  All involved parties fled the scene prior to officer’s arrival.


A short time later officers learned an adult male was dropped off, by an unknown party, at an area hospital with a gunshot wound, and was in critical condition.  Tragically, he succumbed to his injuries.  The identity of the deceased will be released by the Arapahoe County Coroner's Office once he has been positively identified, and his next of kin have been notified.


A second male arrived at an area hospital with a gunshot wound and is expected to survive.
  This male arrived via ambulance from a location in Arapahoe County.


At this time,
 
we do not have anyone in custody, and are actively working to determine who the suspect(s) are.  At this early stage in the investigation we believe this was an isolated incident, and there is not an immediate danger to the public.


This incident is now being investigated as a Homicide by the Aurora Police Department Major Crimes/Homicide Unit.

On May 18th, 2020, at around 9:57 P.M., the Aurora Police Department Public Safety Communications Center received reports of a shooting at 2221 South Havana Street, InTown Suites.

Upon arrival, officers located an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound.  The victim was transported to an area hospital in critical condition last night but this morning he has unfortunately succumbed to his injuries.

This is still an active investigation and investigators from the Major Crimes/Homicide Unit are working to determine what led to the shooting and death of the victim.  His identity will be released by the 
Arapahoe County Coroner's Office once he has been positively identified and his next of kin have been notified.

 

We currently do not have anyone in custody. We are asking anyone with information about this case to call Agent Krieger at 303.739.6113 or they can remain anonymous by contacting Denver Metro Crime Stoppers at 720.913.STOP (7867) and be eligible for a reward of up to $2,000.

On 05/16/20 at 7:45 P.M. Aurora Fire Rescue and Aurora Police Officers were dispatched to a single car accident in the intersection of E. Alameda Ave. and S. Lima St.   When Aurora Fire and Police arrived they found a white Chrysler 300 partially in the street, the driver and passenger were removed from the vehicle by good Samaritans.  Both adults were transported to area hospitals, it was at the hospital where the adult passenger died of his injuries.  The driver of the vehicle is currently in critical condition. 

It appears that the Chrysler 300 was traveling west on E. Alameda Ave. and hit the north curb/gutter pan, the vehicle drove up on the sidewalk, lost control and struck a tree on the north side of the street.

This in an on-going investigation by the Aurora Police Traffic Investigations unit.  The identity of the passenger is not being released at this time, the Arapahoe County Coroner's Office will make notifications at a later date.   At this time it appears that alcohol and speed will be contributing factors in this accident.

On May 4th, 2020 at around 9:20p.m., the Aurora Police Department Public Safety Communications Center received reports of a shooting at 291 South Sable Boulevard.  

Upon arrival, officers located an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound.  The victim later succumb to his injuries and was pronounced dead at an area hospital.

This is still an active investigation and investigators from the Major Crimes/Homicide Unit are working to determine what led to the shooting and death of the victim.  His identity will be released by the 
Arapahoe County Coroner's Office once he has been positively identified and his next of kin have been notified.

On 05/03/20 at 6:12 P.M. Officers were dispatched to a two vehicle accident involving a 2013 Kia sedan and a 2014 BMW SUV at E. Yale Ave and S. Vaughn Way. It appears the BMW is at- fault attempting to pass the KIA in on-coming traffic lanes, sideswiping the KIA killing the driver of the KIA. Several occupants of the vehicle fled the scene and were apprehended in the area. Investigation is on-going through the Aurora Police Traffic Investigations. Identity of the Kia driver is not being released at this time pending identification by the Arapahoe Coroner's office. It appears drugs may be involved. Arapahoe County Coroner advised.
