(May 21) The Aurora Police Major Crimes Homicide Unit is investigation a shooting that occurred in the area of 2993 S Peoria St.
On May 21, 2022 at approximately 03:24 a.m., the Aurora Police Department responded to 2993 S Peoria St on reports of a shooting at a party.
Upon arrival, officers located an adult male suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. This male was pronounced deceased at the scene. Officers located a second victim, a juvenile male with an apparent gunshot wound, this male was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Detectives from the department's Major Crimes Homicide Unit responded to the scene and will be responsible for this investigation. At this early stage in the investigation, the facts and circumstances that led up to this death, to include suspect descriptions, are still being determined.
The Arapahoe County Coroner's Office will release the victim's name after positive identification and notification of next-of-kin.

(May 19) ARREST MADE
Following up on investigative leads, The Major Crimes Homicide Unit made an arrest late last night. The suspect is a 16-year-old Hispanic juvenile male and his information is not being released at this time due to his age. The suspect has been arrested on suspicion of 1st Degree Murder and is currently being held at the Marvin W Foote Youth Services Center on a no bond hold.

(March 11) The Aurora Police Major Crimes Homicide Unit is investigating a shooting in the 12700 block of East Asbury Circle.
On March 11, 2022, at approximately 02:34 p.m., the Aurora Police Department responded to the 12700 block of East Asbury Circle on reports of a shooting.
Upon arrival, officers located a 16-year-old male suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. This male was transported to the hospital where he was later pronounced deceased.
Detectives from the department’s Major Crimes Homicide Unit responded to the scene and will be responsible for this investigation. At this early stage in the investigation, the facts and circumstances that led up to this death, to include suspect descriptions, are still being determined.

On May 13th, 2022 at about 5 p.m. Aurora Police responded to the area of 15270 East 6th Avenue after Aurora911 received numerous calls about a shooting at that location.
When officers arrived on scene they found two people suffering from gunshot wounds, both adult males. Sadly, they were pronounced deceased on scene by Aurora Fire Rescue. Detectives from the Major Crimes Homicide Unit responded to the scene and will be the lead investigators for this incident. The facts and circumstances leading up to this shooting are still being determined however, Detectives believe all involved people have been identified.
Once the victims have been positively identified and their next of kin have been notified the Arapahoe County Coroner's Office will release the names of the victims.

(May 5) The Aurora Police Major Crimes Homicide Unit is now investigating after a man dies after being shot on April 22.
On April 22, 2022 at about 3:20 p.m., the Aurora Police Department responded to shooting at 13140 East Kansas Drive. Upon officers' arrival, they located a man suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. This man was transported to the hospital where he remained until his tragic passing on May 4, 2022.
Detectives from our District 1 Investigations initially handled this investigation, but since the victim died, our Major Crimes Homicide Unit is now responsible for this investigation. At this early stage in the investigation, the facts and circumstances that led up to this death, to include suspect descriptions, are still being determined.
The Arapahoe County Coroner's Office has positively identified the victim as 32-year-old Noah Pfister.

(May 4) On March 4, 2022 about 4:30a, officers responded to reports of an injured woman in a parking lot near East 11th Avenue and North Peoria Street. Officers located a woman with serious injuries who was quickly transported to the hospital. The woman stated that she had just met a man a short time prior to the incident and was driven to this location around 1:30a. The man ended up choking her unconscious, pushed her out of the vehicle and then running her over. The man left the scene and the victim laid in the parking lot for hours before being discovered.
District 1 Detectives immediately began investigating this incident. The victim, who had to be hospitalized numerous times since the incident happened, died from her injuries on April 19. It was at this time that Detectives from the Major Crimes Homicide Unit took over the investigation. Just recently, a suspect was positively identified.
On May 3, Aurora Police Homicide Detectives arrested Jordan Howard (9/19/1997) and booked him into the Aurora Jail early this morning on suspicion of 1st Degree Murder. This case will now be prosecuted by the 18th Judicial District Attorney’s Office. Jordan’s booking photo has been included below.

(April 14) The Aurora Police Major Crimes Homicide Unit is announcing the arrest of a 20-year-old after a man dies following a shooting this afternoon.
On April 14, 2022, about 3:24 p.m., the Aurora Police Department responded to the area of South Laredo Street and East Dartmouth Avenue on reports of a shooting. Officers located a 19-year-old man inside of a vehicle suffering from a gunshot wound. This man was transported to the hospital and tragically pronounced deceased about two hours later. It was initially reported to officers on scene that the man shot himself.
Detectives from the department's Major Crimes Homicide Unit responded to the scene and will be conducting this investigation. Detectives interviewed numerous people and collected evidence on the scene, to include a handgun. During these interviews, it was learned that the victim was shot by someone else in the vehicle while they were in the parking lot located at 17090 East Quincy Avenue.
Detectives have arrested 20-year-old Kevin Altamirano (9/21/2001) and charged him with manslaughter. A booking photo is below. This case will be prosecuted by the 18th Judicial District Attorney’s Office.

On March 29, 2022 at about 5:10 a.m., the Aurora Police Department responded to the parking lot of 11895 East Archer Place, on a welfare check. Upon officers' arrival, they located two women suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Tragically, one woman was pronounced deceased on the scene and the second was transported to a local hospital in critical condition.

(March 28) ARREST MADE
Following up on investigative leads, The Major Crimes Homicide Unit made an arrest earlier today in Denver. The suspect, who is the brother of the deceased victim, has been identified as Jimmy Lee Churchill. He was arrested for 1st Degree Murder and Possession of a Weapon by a Previous Offender. Investigators believe that the two brothers were involved in a verbal altercation in the motel room before the shooting occurred. Churchill is currently being held at the Aurora Detention Center on a no bond hold.

(March 25) The Aurora Police Major Crimes Homicide Unit is investigating after a person was found dead in a field in northeast Aurora.
On March 25, 2022, about 7:15 a.m., the Aurora Police Department responded to the area of East 56th Avenue near E470 on reports of a down party. Officers located a person lying in the field just off the roadway. This person was pronounced deceased on the scene.
Detectives from the department's Major Crimes Homicide Unit responded to the scene and will be responsible for this investigation. At this early stage in the investigation, the facts and circumstances that led up to this death, to include suspect information, are still to be determined.
