On December 16, 2017 at approximately 5:35 A.M., Aurora Police Officers responded to a residence at 1410 N. Clinton St. in northwest Aurora on the report of a shooting.  Upon arrival, Officers found a deceased adult male who was suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. 

The Aurora Police Department Major Crimes/Homicide Unit responded to the scene and is actively investigating this incident.  There is currently not a suspect in custody in relation to this incident.

The identity of the victim will be released by the Arapahoe County Coroner’s Office pending the positive identification of the victims and the notification of next of kin.

On December 12th, 2017 at approximately 6:20p.m. Aurora Police responded to an apartment at 165 South Sable Boulevard on a welfare check. Upon arrival officers made entry into the apartment and located a deceased 57 year old female. Her death is being investigated as a homicide by the Major Crimes/Homicide Unit. 

The name of the victim is not being released at this time and will be released by the Arapahoe County Coroner's Office once the victim has been positively identified and her next of kin have been notified.

Aurora Police are investigating a shooting that left one man dead in Southeast Aurora early this morning.

At approximately 3:30a.m. Aurora Police responded to a report of a disturbance at the Cambrian Apartments. In the parking lot of 15651 East Caspian Circle, officers located an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to a local hospital were he later died from his injury. Police have no suspect information to release at this time and are looking to speak with anyone who may have witnessed this homicide.

On November 20, 2017, at approximately 5:16 pm officers were dispatched to 481 South Kalispell Way on a report of a shooting. Upon arrival officers found an 18 year old black male suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a local hospital where he remained in critical condition until November 24, 2017 when he succumbed to his injuries.

The investigation has revealed that the shooting was felonious and as a result one person is currently in custody in connection with the homicide. This is still an ongoing and active investigation so minimal information is being released at this time.

The identity of the victim will be released by the Arapahoe County Coroner’s office.

Aurora Police are investigating a shooting in Northwest Aurora that has left one man dead.

On November 6th at around 9:40p.m. Aurora Police responded to a report of a shooting at East 14th Avenue and North Paris Street.  Upon arrival officers located an adult male in the roadway who had been shot. He was transported to a local hospital where he later died from his injuries. 

The name of the victim will be released by the Arapahoe County Coroner's Office once he has been positively identified and his next of kin have been notified. 

Police have no suspect information at this time and are asking anyone with information about this case to call Agent Randy Hansen with the Major Crimes/Homicide Unit at 303.739.6710. On Friday October 6, 2017 at approximately 5:00 P.M., Aurora Police Officers responded to a residence located in the 1200 block of S. Fultondale Cir. to check the welfare of a party. 

Upon arrival, the responding Officers heard a single gunshot come from inside the residence that they had been dispatched to.  Out of an abundance of caution and for the safety of Officers on scene, additional resources were requested to the scene to include members of Aurora’s Strategic Response Team (SRT).  From this point, SRT Officers began to systematically check the residence.  Ultimately, two deceased adults were located inside the residence.

The Aurora Police Department Major Crimes/Homicide Unit is investigating this incident to determine exactly what occurred.  At this time, the Aurora Police Department does not believe that any circumstances pose a danger to the public at large.

The identity of the victims will be released by the Arapahoe County Coroner’s Office pending the positive identification of the victims and the notification of their next of kin.

On the afternoon of August 29, 2017, the victim who was shot during this incident has died from her injuries. The victim, an adult female, was shot on the afternoon of August 28, 2017 in the 10500 block of E. Mississippi Ave.

The investigation into this incident remains very active and is on-going. The identity of the victim will be released by the Arapahoe County Coroner’s Office pending the positive identification of the victim and notification of her next of kin.

On Monday afternoon at approximately 5:48 p.m. the Aurora Police Department received information from the Denver Police Department about a shooting that had occurred in the 10500 block of East Mississippi Avenue. Upon arrival officers located an adult female who was suffering from a gunshot wound. She was transported to a local hospital and is currently in critical condition.

During the initial investigation it was determined that two vehicles traveling eastbound on East Mississippi Avenue were involved in the shooting and a subsequent accident resulted in another vehicle becoming involved. The suspect’s vehicle left the scene. It is unknown how many occupants were inside the two involved vehicles when the shooting occurred.

Investigators from the Major Crimes/Homicide Unit responded to the scene and are following on up leads and interviewing witnesses to determine what events lead up to the shooting and to identify potential suspect(s) .

Due to the fact that this is an ongoing investigation information about the suspect(s) and the suspect’s vehicle is not being released at this time.

The identity of the victim is not being released at this time.

On Thursday evening at approximately 11:46p.m. Aurora Police responded to a report of a party shot in the alley behind 1460 Boston Street in Northwest Aurora. Upon arrival officers located an adult male victim who had been shot several times. He was transported to a local hospital where he died from his injuries early this morning.

Patrol Officers with the assistance of the Denver Police Department Air Support Unit searched the area for any potential suspects remaining in the area, none were located. The Major Crimes/Homicide Unit responded to the scene and are actively investigating this case.

The identity of the victim is not being released at this time. His name will be released by the Arapahoe County Coroner’s Office once he has been positively identified and next of kin have been notified.

At 3:16 this afternoon the Aurora Police Department responded to a report of a shooting in the area of E Louisiana Ave and S Yampa Way. When officers arrived on scene they located an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a local hospital where he later died from his injuries.

Investigators from the Major Crimes/Homicide Unit responded to the scene and are following on up leads and interviewing witnesses to determine what events lead up to the shooting and to identify potential suspect(s) .

Approximately 6 months ago on the early morning of February 18, 2017, a man was murdered in the 4000 block of S. Crystal Cir. in Aurora. Kelly Acosta, a 29 year old man, was fatally shot while he was intervening in a robbery as a Good Samaritan.

Detectives of Aurora's Major Crimes Unit have investigated every possible lead in the case and continue to work diligently towards justice for Acosta and his family. The case remains unsolved and there are still many questions that remain unanswered. It is believed that there is somebody out there who has information about Acosta's killer. Detectives and Acosta's family are pleading with the public to please come forward with any information that they might have in regards to this case.

Prior to today, there was a total of up to $27,000 in reward money available to anybody who has information leading to the arrest of Acosta's killer. As of today, that reward total has been increased to $40,000.

The U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), is offering a reward for up to $10,000.00 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible for this homicide. This reward is being offered through a partnership with ATF and the Aurora Police Department under the Crime Gun Intelligence Center (CGIC) initiative.
The following organizations are offering additional reward amounts:

Metro Denver Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $2,000.

The Aurora Police Department Reward fund is offering a reward of $7,000.00.

Memorial Fund (established by friends and family of the victim) is offering a reward of $21,000.

The Aurora Police Department needs the assistance of the public with solving a murder that occurred in the early morning hours of February 18, 2017 in the 4000 block of S. Crystal Cir. The deceased victim in this case was intervening in an assault as a good Samaritan and was killed for his efforts. At this time, there is no further information available to release. On Saturday February 18, 2017 at approximately 04:25 a.m. Officers responded to a parking lot in the 4000 block of S. Crystal Cir. on the report of parties fighting at this location with shots fired.

Upon arrival, Officers located an adult male victim suffering from a gunshot wound.  The victim was transported to an area hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. 

This is still an active and on-going investigation and there are no further details to provide at this time.  The Major Crimes/Homicide Unit is handling the investigation into this matter. At this time there is no suspect information available for release. The identity of the victim will be released by the Arapahoe County Coroner’s Office pending the positive identification of the victim and notification of his next of kin.
