(April 24) The Aurora Police Traffic Section is investigating a fatal auto pedestrian crash that occurred near E. Colfax Avenue and N. Moline Street.  

On Saturday, April 23rd, 2022, at about 10:11p.m., Aurora Police responded a crash involving a pedestrian near the intersection of East Colfax Avenue and N. Moline Street.  The pedestrian was transported to the hospital with serious injuries which sadly, they did not survive.  

The preliminary investigation revealed a Toyota FJ Cruiser was traveling east on E. Colfax Avenue just west of N. Moline Street when they struck an adult male pedestrian that was crossing the roadway.  The driver of the Toyota has been identified and cooperative with officers. 

It is unknown if speed or intoxication were a factor in the crash.  This is an open and ongoing investigation, the Aurora Police Traffic Section will determine the circumstances of the crash and if criminal charges are appropriate at the conclusion of the investigation. 


The identifications of the deceased will be released by the Arapahoe County Coroner’s Office once they have been positively identified and their next-of-kin have been notified.

We ask anyone who may have witnessed this crash or has dash-camera footage of the crash, and has not yet spoken to police, to contact the Aurora Police Traffic Section.

(August 1st, 2020) At about 1:06 P.M. this afternoon, Aurora Police Officers were called to the 1700 Block of North Beeler Street on reports of a shooting.

When officers arrived on scene, which was actually located on Boston Street, they found an adult male in a vehicle suffering from at least one fatal gunshot wound.  Medical was summoned to the scene but unfortunately, the male was pronounced deceased. 

The victim’s identity will be released by the Adams County Coroner’s Office once he has been positively identified and his next of kin have been notified.

Investigators from the Major Crimes/Homicide Unit responded to the scene and are actively investigating. It is very early in the investigation and it is unknown what led up to the shooting.  There is no suspect information at this time.

(June 25th, 2020) This evening at approximately 8 p.m. Aurora Police Department Officers were called to the area of East 19th Avenue and North Oswego Street on a report of a shooting.  

 

When officers arrived on scene, they found a 24-year-old male unconscious, lying on the ground, and bleeding.  The male was transported to an area hospital where, unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries.  

 

The victim’s identity will be released by the Adams County Coroner’s Office once he has been identified and his next of kin have been notified.  

 

Investigators from the Major Crimes/Homicide Unit are on scene and actively investigating.  At this early stage in the investigation, it is unknown what led up to the incident and there is no suspect information.

On June 18th, 2020 at around 6:20 a.m., the Aurora Police Department Public Safety Communication Center received reports of an unresponsive male lying on the ground. 

Officers responded to 10653 E. Jewell Avenue, The Willowick Apartments, and found an adult male lying on the ground, bleeding, and unresponsive.  Aurora Fire Rescue responded to the scene but the victim was, sadly, deceased. 

Investigators from the Major Crimes/Homicide Unit are on scene and actively investigating.  It is unknown what led up to the incident and at this time there is no suspect information. 

The victim’s identity will be released by the Arapahoe County Coroner’s Office once he has been positively identified and next of kin have been notified.

(January 17, 2020). On January 17th, 2020 at approximately 12:20 a.m. Aurora Police Officers responded to a report of a gunshot and a person laying in the street at the intersection of East 17th Avenue and Iola Street.

Upon arriving officers found a male suffering from a gunshot wound. Life saving measures were started but proved futile. Tragically the male was declared deceased at the location.

Cause of death and notification of the next of kin will be done by the Adams County Coroner’s Office.

This is being investigated as a homicide by the Aurora Police Department Major Crimes/Homicide Unit. We are asking anyone with information about this case to contact Agt W. Miller at 303-739-6117.

On August 29, 2019 at 10:08 P.M. Aurora Police Officers responded to the call of unknown situation in the area of East 7th Avenue and North Moline Street.

When officers arrived they found an adult male inside the house. He was unresponsive and he was immediately treated by trained medical personnel who arrived on scene. The male was pronounced as deceased at the scene.

The Arapahoe County Coroner’s Office will determine the cause of death and identify the deceased after next of kin notification.

CORRECTION: The date of this tragic event was May 14, 2019 and not May 24, 2019 as previously reported. 




On May 24, 2019 at 7:26 P.M. Aurora Police Officers responded to the 9000 block of East 16th Avenue on reports of a possible dead person in the area.

Upon officers arrival they located a victim sitting in a vehicle suffering from an unknown injury. The victim, an adult male in his 30's, was pronounced at the scene.

Positive identification of the victim, and notification of the next-of-kin will be done by the Adams County Coroner’s Office. The Coroner will also determine the cause of death.

This is now being investigated by the Aurora Police Major Crimes/Homicide Unit. We ask anyone who may be a witness, or has information about this homicide, to please call Aurora Police Agent Huber at 303-739-6090. CORRECTION  
The crash occurred on February 15th, 2019, at about 2:15 A.M. 




On January 15th, 2019,  at about 2:15 A.M, Officers from the Aurora Police Department responded to a the area of E. Mississippi Ave. and S. Troy St. on reports of a single vehicle rollover crash. 

 

The Aurora Police Department Traffic unit investigated the accident and found the vehicle was traveling westbound on E. Mississippi Ave. at about S. Troy St. where the driver lost control of the car.  The vehicle hit the planter box in the center median and rolled several times coming to rest in the eastbound lanes of E. Mississippi Ave.  The adult male driver was unrestrained in the vehicle and was partially ejected from the car.  When Aurora Fire Rescue arrived on scene it was determined that the driver had already succumbed to his injuries.

 

The Aurora Police Traffic Unit is investigating the accident and ask any witnesses to call Officer Justin Thull at 303-739-6381 with any information about the accident.  It appears at this time speed and alcohol will be factored in this accident.

 

This will be the 4th fatal accident in Aurora in 2019.
