The Aurora Police Department is announcing that the reward has been increased in a shooting incident that left one man dead and three other persons wounded on the early morning of May 27, 2018. On that morning at approximately 2:10 A.M., Aurora Police Officers responded on the report a shooting at 15405 East 6th Ave. That shooting claimed the life of Dejon Williams (DOB 11/10/1980), who was identified by the Arapahoe County Coroner’s Office earlier this week. Previously, the reward for this case was listed at $2,000 and the reward is now up to $4,000.

The investigation of the shooting still remains very active. Aurora Major Crimes/Homicide Detectives are working hard to follow-up on every lead and speak to witnesses to determine what lead up to the shooting and to identify a suspect. At this time, no persons are in custody for this incident. That being said, the Aurora Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance with solving this murder. Detectives believe that there are other witnesses who have information about this incident or who may be able to identify the suspect. No piece of information, no matter how slight, is considered to be insignificant. Information previously released on May 27, 2018

On May 27, 2018 at approximately 02:10 A.M., a shooting was reported in the area of E 6th Ave and N Helena St. Officers arrived on scene and located four adults suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.  All four victims were transported to local hospitals. Later at the hospital a male victim was pronounced deceased.

This case is in its early stages and the Aurora Police Major Crimes Unit (MCU) is actively investigating the incident. As a part of the investigation, Detectives will determine what circumstances lead up to the shooting. As to protect the integrity of the active investigation, no further information is being released at this time. No persons are currently in custody in connection with this incident.
