(June 5, 2020) On June 4, 2020 at 5:41 p.m., Aurora Police Officers responded to a serious traffic crash on East Quincy Avenue and South Parker Road that left an adult female with significant injuries.  Tragically, the injured adult female succumbed to her injuries late last night. 

Her identity will be released by the Arapahoe County Coroner's Office once she has been positively identified and her next of kin have been notified.

This incident continues to be under investigation by the Aurora Police Department Traffic Unit.

On June 4th, 2020 at 5:41 p.m., Aurora Police and Fire-Rescue responded to a crash in the area of East Quincy Avenue and South Parker Road.  Officers found an adult female driving a white Honda Sedan travelling northbound crossed the median just north of Quincy Ave. The vehicle travelled into the southbound lanes striking three other vehicles including one head-on.

The female driving the white Honda was transported to a local hospital with severe injuries.

This in an on-going investigation by the Aurora Police Traffic unit.  The identity of the driver is not being released at this time until relatives can be notified.

June 1st 2019

On June 1st, 2020 at about 8:15 P.M. Aurora Police and Fire responded to the area of E. Kentucky Ave. & S. Havana St. on a report of a crash involving a car and a motorcycle.   Initial investigation reveals that a late model sedan, driven by an adult female, was exiting a business parking lot westbound, and went into the path of a motorcycle which being ridden by an adult male northbound on S. Havana St.

The vehicles collided, causing the motorcyclist to be ejected from the motorcycle, causing serious, possibly life threatening injuries.  He was transported to a local hospital.  The driver of the car remained on scene and is cooperating with investigators.  Drugs and / or alcohol do not appear to be a factor at this time.  

The investigation is ongoing by the APD Traffic Unit, and the identities of the parties involved are not being released at this time.

Further updates will be released at the appropriate time.

Making Magic: Crafts for Kids

It's Making Magic Monday!

Join us each Monday during the Summer of Imagination for a new kids's craft! Today we're making scented playdough! There are two recipes you can follow. Show us your playdough creation in the comments!

Supplies (Recipe 1):
- 1 cup flour
- 1/3 cup salt
- 1/2 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1/4 cup warm water 
- Essential oil
- Food coloring
- 2 bowls
- Mixing spoon

Supplies (Recipe 2):
- 3/4 cup corn starch
- 1/2 cup scented conditioner
- Food coloring
- 2 bowls
- Mixing spoon

On June 1, 2020, at around 12:20 P.M., the Aurora Police Department Public Safety Communications Center received reports of a shooting near East 16th Avenue and North Akron Street.

Upon arrival, officers located an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to an area hospital in critical condition but has succumbed to his injuries.

This is still an active investigation and investigators from the Major Crimes/Homicide Unit are working to determine what led to the shooting and death of the victim. His identity will be released by the Adams County Coroner's Office once he has been positively identified and his next of kin have been notified.

We currently do not have anyone in custody. We are asking anyone with information about this case to call Agent Sutherland at 303.739.6406 or they can remain anonymous by contacting Denver Metro Crime Stoppers at 720.913.STOP (7867) and be eligible for a reward of up to $2,000.
