March 13-15, 2021, Closures and Cancellations 

The city of Aurora has announced the following cancellations and closures for the mid-March, 2021, snowstorm. Please note this list is only for city operations and does not include schools, businesses or other facilities.

  • Aurora City Council Study Session - the March 15 meeting has been cancelled and rescheduled for March 22 
  • Aurora Animal Shelter - closed Monday, March 15
  • Aurora Dance Arts - all classes canceled Saturday, March 13, and Sunday, March 14
  • Aurora Fox Arts Center - performances of "The Pavilion" canceled Saturday, March 13, and Sunday, March 14
  • Aurora History Museum - normally closed on Mondays
  • Aurora Municipal Court - closed Monday, March 15 (Aurora Detention Center will remain open); reopening at 7:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 16
  • Aurora Police Department Headquarters - closed until 6 a.m. March 16; staff working remotely and available for information calls and phone crime reporting
  • Bicentennial Art Center - all classes canceled Monday, March 15
  • COVID-19 Community Testing Center - the site (Aurora Center for Active Adults parking lot in Del Mar Park) will be closed through Monday, March 15
  • Libraries - All libraries will be closed Monday, March 15
  • Nature Centers (Morrison, Plains Conservation Center, Senac Creek) - closed through noon Wednesday, March 17
  • Recreation Centers (Beck, Central, Moorhead and Utah Indoor Pool) - closed through Monday, March 15
  • Reservoirs (Aurora and Quincy) - will close when a snow and/or wind prevent safe access and parking; typically, snow accumulation over 6 inches and winds at 20 mph or more will trigger the reservoir closures; call ahead before visiting

For other facilities not listed above, patrons are encouraged to contact the individual facility regarding specifics programs and activities to confirm schedules and availability.
