The following city of Aurora facilities and programs are reporting cancellations, closures or changes because of the winter weather forecast March 13-15, 2023. Please check back to this page for updates, and note that the information below is subject to change.
Facilities
Aurora Animal Shelter - Closed on Thursday, March 14, and delayed opening at noon on Friday, March 15. Questions? Email [email protected].
Aurora History Museum - Closed on Thursday, March 14, and delayed opening of 10 a.m. on Friday, March 15.
Aurora Municipal Center - Closed to in-person services on Thursday, March 14, but most virtual services will remain open. Delayed opening for in-person services of 10 a.m. on Friday, March 15.
Aurora Municipal Court - Closed on Thursday, March 14, and a delayed opening of 11 a.m. on Friday, March 15. Jurors have been notified of the cancellation of jury trials. Case Management will reach out to all affected defendants to reschedule court appearances. All Probation appointments have been changed to virtual. The March 15 morning traffic docket is moved to 1:30 p.m.
Aurora Public Library – All branches closed on Thursday, March 14. This includes:

Emergency Shelters - Comitis Crisis Center and the Aurora Day Resource Center will activate Wednesday night through Sunday morning as emergency shelters. More information can be found at ComitisCrisisCenter.org. The Aurora Cold-Weather Outreach Team has been activated.
Warming Shelter - The warming shelter at Fox Ridge Middle School is now closed.

Regional Navigation Campus public meeting - The public meeting for business owners scheduled for 6 p.m. Thursday, March 14, has been changed to a virtual-only meeting. Go to EngageAurora.org/NavigationCampus for details and meeting link.
Targeted Violence Prevention Program Community Training Series - The scheduled training on Thursday, March 14, for "How schools help prevent targeted violence" has been postponed. More information will be provided on the city's social media channels.
United Against Hate: A conversation with the LGBTQIA+ community - This event from the city of Aurora Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion has been postponed from its originally scheduled date of March 14 to 6-8 p.m. Thursday, March 21, at Stanley Marketplace.
