The Parks & Open Space Department plans, develops, and manages the City of Aurora’s parks, golf courses and open space system. There are five divisions within the Department:

Forestry • Golf • Open Space & Natural Resources •
Parks Operations & Management • Planning Design & Construction

What We Do . . .

Aurora has seven golf courses of varying lengths and skill levels. Please contact the individual courses for details. Aurora Hills, Centre Hills, Fitzsimons, Meadow Hills, Murphy Creek, Saddle Rock, or Springhill. Contact Us: Golf Division (administration only) 303-739-7888

Aurora’s open space and natural areas include a nature center, historic sites, stream corridors, wetlands, a plains preserve, and wildlife habitat. Contact Us: Open Space & Natural Resources Division 303-326-8948 opensp@auroragov.org.

Developed parks, sportsfields, special use parks for skateboarding or disc golf, picnic shelters and playgrounds are distributed throughout the City of Aurora. Contact Us: Parks Operation & Management Division 303-739-7160 parks@auroragov.org. To reserve a park shelter online.

Open space and recreational facilities at the reservoirs allow for boating, fishing, swimming, hiking and biking, and provide valuable wildlife habitat. Contact Us: Reservoir Administration 303-690-1286 opensp@auroragov.org

Trails connect all sections of the City, winding along a stream corridor, canal or through a developed park, they provide miles of walking or riding pleasure. Contact Us: Open Space & Natural Resources Division 303-326-8948 opensp@auroragov.org

Trees throughout the City are a valuable resource, helping to clean our air and provide shade through the hot summer months. We can provide valuable information about the trees in your community. Contact Us: Forestry Division 303-739-7177
