Tallyn’s Reach Library marks 20th anniversary

Tallyn’s Reach Library turns 20 years old in 2024, and you are invited to join the celebration. The branch staff is ready to celebrate in style with a special storytime, collecting memories, and a birthday party set in 2004, all taking place Saturday, March 23.

Tallyn’s Reach Library is part of the 82,000-square-foot namesake municipal center that also houses Police District 3, Fire Station No. 13 and the Aurora 911 communications center, located at Arapahoe Road and Aurora Parkway. When it opened in 2004, the facility cost about $17 million, and it was funded by public safety and library facilities bonds passed by voters in 2000 as well as through the E-911 Fund.

Activities happening March 23:

  • Storytime Like It’s 2004, 10:30 a.m. to noon. A special birthday storytime! Enjoy books published in 2004 with a special craft session.

  • Tallyn’s Collective Memory, 2 to 4 p.m. Preserve the community’s memories of Tallyn’s Reach Library by sharing your memories and photos of the library. Voice recording tools and a photo scanner will be available. Memories will be archived for the future.

  • Party Like It’s 2004! 4 to 5 p.m. Enjoy a family friendly birthday party set in March 2004 with trending crafts, nostalgic quizzes and trivia, and, yes, a dance floor with the hottest songs!

Also in 2024, Martin Luther King Jr. Library turns 20 and Hoffman Heights Library turns 60! More celebrations are coming soon. For more information on this and other exciting events, visit AuroraLibrary.org.
