The Human Resources Department serves as the central contact for the coordination of employment opportunities, employee compensation and benefits, employee relations, training and Risk Management.

Salary and benefit surveys are conducted on a regular basis and updated pay schedules are maintained. Those updates are on the pay schedule. 	Service Aurora and Training Aurora offers training opportunities for city employees to optimise learning and job performance. Each year the city recognizes outstanding performance at the Employee Recognition and Service Awards ceremony.
	Safety The city’s safety program provides education and training regarding safe work practices that city employees should use in the workplace and in their homes
	Risk Management The city provides Workers’ Compensation for medical benefits and compensation for time lost from work as a result of work-related injuries. Occupational Health Services performs pre-employment physicals and drug screening. Third party claims (citizen claims) against the city for auto liability, general liability, and property damage liability are handled here. File a claim to begin the process.
