Sunrise ArtWorks
1556 Florence St., 303-361-9282
Potter Walt Weinberg brings the primitive pottery of ancient civilizations into the 20th century and sculpts the mystery of symbols into classic vase forms. A Colorado native, Weinberg began his career in pottery more than 30 years ago, incorporating a degree in languages and his innate ability in sculpture to create his artwork. Harkening back to the petroglyphs, hieroglyphs and woven basketry of our forebearers are Weinburg’s personal symbols etched into earthly colors and matte finishes. The pieces are then thrust into the present with the sophistication of 24k gold and luster glazes.
