Snow Busters

Snow Busters is a program operated by the City of Aurora’s Library, Recreation and Cultural Services Department to assist Aurora’s elderly and people with disabilities with snow shoveling.

To be eligible to receive free assistance, the individual must be:

  • a resident of Aurora;
  • over 60 years of age or a person with disabilities;
  • have limited financial resources; and
  • be unable to shovel their sidewalk.

Community volunteers are Snow Busters. A Snow Buster:

  • is matched with a resident in or close to their neighborhood;
  • shovels the public sidewalk of the resident within 48 hours of a snowfall of 4 inches or more; and
  • assists the resident for one snow season beginning in the fall and ending in the spring.
