Taking Care of Damaged Trees

Was your tree damaged by recent tornadoes, hail or wind? If so, you are likely being approached by companies or individuals offering to do tree work. The Aurora Forestry Division reminds homeowners that all tree service companies performing work in Aurora must be licensed and insured. If they are not, you could be liable for damage they cause to your, or a neighbor’s, property. You can find a list of licensed tree care companies at www.auroragov.org/trees

Dead trees, even in backyards, present a safety hazard and must be removed by homeowners per Aurora City Code.
