A statewide nonprofit organization dedicated to increasing investment in quality early learning programs in Colorado has given the City of Aurora’s Lowry Preschool Program their highest rating, joining 17 other preschool programs in the state and seven in the metro area that have received the four-star designation.
In 2005, the City of Aurora’s Beck Preschool Program was recognized with four stars as well.
Qualistar Early Learning recently recognized Lowry Preschool Program with the four-star rating based on the program’s ability to master Qualistar goals in learning environment, training and education, family partnerships, adult-to-child ratio/group size, and accreditation.
“We are very excited about receiving the four-star rating,” said Lowry Preschool Program director Joan Garcia. “Preschool is most children's first school experience. We try very hard to provide a quality program that is educational and fun.”
The Lowry Preschool Program, located in the Lowry Intergenerational Center at 1016 Boston St., Building 880, serves roughly 55 children each year in four nine-month continuous classes and eight specialty classes.
The City of Aurora’s Preschool Program is celebrating its 35th anniversary in 2007. For more information on the City of Aurora’s preschool programs, call 303-739-8328.
