Aurora Blizzard Response Update
Approximately 85 city of Aurora snow plows are working round-the-clock to clear roads in Aurora. Crews are currently clearing the main arterials, and hope to start plowing the major through streets (collector streets) connecting residential roads later this evening. City crews will start clearing residential streets as soon as possible, but that may be Saturday depending on the conditions.
The city strongly encourages residents to stay home and off the roads, in order to keep streets clear for emergency services and snow plows. Abandoned vehicles along snow routes will be towed. Call 303-739-6054 if your vehicle is towed.
City of Aurora emergency personnel have responded to more than 200 stranded motorists
The Aurora Fire Department urges people to take extra caution with cooking and heating appliances as the weather and road conditions are impacting emergency response times.
