AURORA, Colo. – The U.S. Census Bureau is striving to get a complete count for the 2010 Census, and needs the help of residents locally to make sure all Aurora residents complete the survey.
Residents interested in providing input on how Aurora can get a complete count or to volunteer time are invited to attend the 2010 Census Complete Count Kick-Off from 3:30 to 5 p.m. Nov. 2 at the Aurora Central Library, 14949 E. Alameda Parkway.
The U.S. Census, which has been a community, grassroots effort since the first census in 1790, will conduct the 2010 Census nationwide early next year.
Responding to the 10 simple questions asked in the Census will hugely impact the city of Aurora and directly affect the community in many ways. Billions of dollars for federal and state funding for roads, schools, open space and trails, transit, human services and more depend on a good rate of participation from Aurora residents.
Residents who plan to attend the meeting are asked to RSVP to Margee Cannon in the city of Aurora’s Neighborhood Services Department at mcannon@auroragov.org. For more information, call 303-739-7280.
