AURORA, Colo. – A local organization has taken on a big battle against one of the world’s biggest health threats: malaria.
Find out how to be a part of their effort at “2009 Nets for the Amazon,” a presentation scheduled at 2 p.m. Nov. 15 at the Aurora Central Library, 14949 E. Alameda Parkway. Admission is free.
Malaria infects between 300 and 500 million people each year, resulting in more than a million deaths annually, according to the Centers for Disease Control.
Dennis Cline of the Littleton-based Skeeter Beaters Foundation will share how to make a difference in one part of the world at this presentation, which is part of the Aurora Public Library’s Power of One Perspective lecture series.
No registration is required for the event. For more information, call 303-739-6630. For information on the Skeeter Beaters Foundation, visit www.skeeterbeaters.org.
The Power of One Perspective is the final part in a year-long series of events designed to connect and inspire the community. Visit auroragov.org/powerofone for details.
The Power of One is presented by the Aurora Public Library and sponsored by the Friends of the Aurora Public Library, in partnership with Barnes & Noble and the Colorado Film School at Lowry.
