The Probation Division provides judges with sentencing options for misdemeanor offenses (not including alcohol- related driving offenses) in addition to a fine and/or incarceration and with background information and sentencing recommendations when requested. Defendants placed under supervision are monitored to ensure compliance with court orders. Community service and work programs are arranged through this office. Referrals to a variety of court ordered classes and treatment programs are made through this division.
