Voter and Registration

If you have recently moved into the City of Aurora or if you have changed your address, you should register or re-register to vote.  Your new address is not automatically tracked or changed for voter registration purposes when you move.

If you have changed your name, through marriage, divorce or a legal name change, you need to update your voter registration records with the County Clerk where you reside.

Applications are available for download at the bottom of this page.

QUALIFICATIONS:  To register to vote you must be a citizen of the United States by birth or naturalization.  You must be eighteen years of age or older on the date of the next election.  You must have resided in the state and the precinct 30 days immediately prior to the election at which you intend to vote. No person while serving a sentence of detention or confinement in a correctional facility, jail, or other location for a felony conviction or while serving a sentence of parole shall be eligible to register to vote or to vote in any election.

TO REGISTER or CHANGE YOUR VOTER REGISTRATION:  You may download the application forms below.  Complete the application including all the required information and check the appropriate box (i.e. new registration, party affiliation change, addresses change, etc.) indicating type of registration being processed.  If you are registering to vote for the first time in the State of Colorado and you are mailing your completed Voter Registration Application form, a photocopy of an acceptable form of identification must be enclosed with your completed application. Do not enclose original identification documents. You can mail or bring the completed form to your County Clerk and Recorder Office, your City Clerk's office, Town Clerk's office, or at any Colorado Driver's License office.

REGISTRATION DEADLINE: In order to be eligible to vote in an upcoming election, you must mail or deliver your completed Voter Registration Application form to the County Clerk and Recorder's Office no later than 29 days before the election. Your eligibility to vote is based on the postmark date, if you mail the form. If you complete and deliver this form "in-person" your eligibility to vote will be based on the date the form is submitted.
