Aurora Fox Arts Center Board
Meeting Minutes 8/14/2008

Attendance: Gene Jackson, Brian Barney, Margaret Day, Chloe Johnson
Georg Hill, Su Ryden

Absent: Suellyn Cota, Wendy Bullock, Marita Kenney, Donald Armstrong,

Staff/Guests: Robert Salisbury, Alice Lee Main, Bobbie Rubin

1. Board approved minutes of June 10, 2008 as written.

2. Events Committee Report and Activities:
a) The Board discussed the 2008 Gala and silent auction.

Committee reported that all planning activities are on schedule.

Board members signed up for silent auction activities on Sept 2 – 4.

Chloe Johnson and Brian Barney volunteered to be greeters.

Board members requested name tags for the Gala.

It was agreed to recognize EFC members at the Gala, but not by name.

It was noted to inform Carrabba’s to bring fewer desserts this year.

Board members were reminded to sell tickets and to complete their contact list for silent
auction items

4. Operations Committee Report and Activities:
a) No report.

5. Fund Raising Committee Report and Activities:
a) It was noted that the I Built the BOX campaign would be a major part of the Gala pre-play
ceremonies. People who become a BOX BUILDER that night will be able to put their
handprints in concrete which will then be prominently and permanently displayed in a
special area set aside in the new black box Studio Theatre. Su Ryden will present the new
fund raising program.

6. Recruitment Committee Report and Activities:
a) Board members approved recommendation to reappointment of Chloe Johnson to
the Aurora Fox Board and the Cultural Affairs Commission.
