Aurora Public Works
The Public Works Department is responsible for providing safe, effective transportation within the city of Aurora through quality planning, design, construction and maintaining the city roadways.
The department employs people in various capabilities to achieve the goals of the department. Service divisions under the management of Public Works are: Administrative, Engineering, Real Property, Streets, Traffic, Public Improvement Inspections and the Materials Lab.

Public Works Mission Statement:
The mission of the Public Works Department is to effectively promote and maintain a high level of economic welfare and quality of life in Aurora through the planning, design, construction, inspection, review, approval and maintenance of Aurora’s transportation and drainage infrastructure.
Goals:
1. Continually improve and maintain the City’s transportation infrastructure as its population grows.
2. Effectively promote citizens, businesses and roadway users with exceptional quality engineering, inspection, development review, floodplain management, right-of-way, traffic and maintenance services.
