Covering Aurora East of I-225 and North of E. Jewell Ave

 

The District 2 police station is located at 15001 E. Alameda Pkwy, between S. Sable Blvd and S. Chambers Rd on E. Alameda Pkwy. From I-225 and E. Alameda Ave, drive east on E. Alameda Ave past S. Sable Blvd. The District 2 station is located in the Aurora Municipal complex between the Municipal Court and the Aurora Municipal building.

Parking for District 2 is on the south side of the building east of the central Aurora library. Walk across the large lawn due north. The doors to District 2 are located between the Municipal Court building (with a green dome on it) and the Aurora History Museum (red brick building).

Police services such as records, front desk crime reporting (crimes without suspect information for example), and police property are available at the District 2/Headquarters station. The lobby is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Records and police property are not open 24 hours a day. Please check the links above for their hours.

District 2 has 8 sub-areas, numbered 12 through 19. These are patrolled by officers assigned to work out of District 2.

A team of Police Area Representative (PAR) officers is also housed at District 2. One PAR officer is assigned to each area to work closely with area stakeholders such as businesses, schools, and residents to improve the quality of life in neighborhoods.

District 2 also has a dedicated Direct Action Response Team (DART) that is tasked with providing a proactive response to street crime using Community Policing methods.

District 2 has a detective unit that investigates felony crimes against persons and property that happen within the district. District 2 also houses the city wide Investigations Bureau, to include the Economic Crimes Unit, Crimes Against Children, and the Major Crimes/Homicide Unit. A Pawn unit is also housed there.

Other important services are based out of District 2, including our Victim Services Unit, the Crime Lab, and the Special Operations Bureau (Traffic Unit, Community Resources Section).

Administrative offices, to include the Chief of Police, are also located at District 2.
