Covering Aurora West of I-225.

District 1 is further divided at E. 6th Ave into two sectors. Sector A is everything north of E. 6th Ave and sector B is everything south.

 

The District 1 police station is located at 13347 E. Montview Blvd, near the intersection of E. Montview Blvd and N. Fitzsimmons Pkwy. To get to the station from E. Colfax Ave and N. Peoria St, go east on E. Colfax Ave to N. Fitzsimmons Pkwy and turn north. Take N. Fitzsimmons Pkwy to E. Montview Blvd and turn west. The station is one block west on the north side of E. Montview Blvd.

To get to District 1 from I-225 and E. Colfax Ave., exit I-225 at E. Colfax Ave. Head west on E. Colfax Ave. Turn north (right) on N. Fitzsimmons Pkwy. Take N. Fitzsimmons Pkwy. to E. Montview Blvd. and turn west (left). The station is one block west on the north side of E. Montview Blvd.

District 1 is sub-divided into 11 sub-areas (geographical divisions within the District), numbered 1 through 11. These areas are patrolled by officers assigned to work out of District 1. The District is also services by a detective unit that investigates felony crimes against persons and property.

A team of Police Area Representative (PAR) officers is also housed at District 1. One PAR officer is assigned to each area and works closely with area stakeholders such as businesses, schools, and residents to improve the quality of life in neighborhoods.

Assisting the PAR officers and patrol officers are members of District 1’s Foot Patrol who work the East Colfax corridor.

District 1 also has a dedicated Direct Action Response Team (DART) that is tasked with providing a proactive response to street crime using Community Policing methods.

Police services such as records, 24 hour front desk crime reporting (crimes without suspect information for example), and police property are available at the District 2/Headquarters station.
