Where We Are Located
|
The Zoning Counter is part of the Zoning and Development Review Division of the Planning Department and is located in the Permit Center on the second floor of the Aurora Municipal Building, 15151 E. Alameda Parkway. The counter is staffed during normal business days from 8:00am to 5:00pm, Monday through Friday, and is conveniently located between the offices of the Building Division and Planning Department.

When To Visit Us

During normal business hours we provide walk-up assistance without an appointment for:
- Filing and issuance of Fence Permits
- Filing and issuance of Sign Permits
- Filing of Board of Adjustment and Appeals applications. (May also require an appointment.)
- Questions about any of the topics listed below

When To Contact Us By Phone Or Fax

Contact us by phone to:
- Schedule an inspection for Planning Department Certificate of Occupancy or Temporary Certificate of Occupancy inspections, call 303-739-7449 at any time prior to 4:00pm on the day before the inspection is needed. (This inspection is in addition to other required Building Division Inspections.) You can also request an inspection by faxing a Zoning Inspection Fax Sheet to 303-739-7486.
- Inquire about zoning regulations for existing homes and businesses that are not part of larger planned developments and not subject to Site Plans. Call 303-739-7347 or send us a fax at 303-739-7486. (Call the Planner-In-Charge at the Planning Counter for Site Plan and Master Plan questions at 303-739-7250.)
- Inquire about the status of the Zoning Counter’s review of Building Permit applications and Business License applications. (We do not issue these permits, but we do review them for compliance with zoning and planning regulations.) Call 303-739-7347 for questions about our portion of the review.
- Inquire about Board of Adjustment and Appeals cases and processing. Call 303-739-7347.
