The Aurora History Museum supports teachers with expertise and programs about Aurora’s rich history. Each activity is designed to meet the needs of multiple grade levels and addresses diverse audiences. Many programs, tours, and online resources meet Colorado Model Content Standards for social studies and English.

FIELD TRIPS
Available year round, the Museum’s tours can be customized to the needs of your class. Entertaining and informative extended tours are an easy way to make the most of your field trip budget.

Guided tours are available for groups of 10 or more. Fees are $2.00 per person for 1-2 activities and $2.50 for 3-4 activities. Fees payable to the city of Aurora are due at the beginning of the tour. Adult chaperones for groups are free. There is no charge for self-guided tours. One adult per 10 children is required. BORROW AN ARTIFACT FROM THE EDUCATION COLLECTION
Enhance your lesson plan or presentation with the real thing! Artifacts range from clothing to try on, tools to try out and oddities to try figuring out. Objects spanning more than 100 years are available for classroom teachers. View details.

Support the community of teachers by posting your lesson plans on the Museum’s bulletin board. Lesson plans may be submitted as word documents and JPEG-format images. The Museum’s education staff will review each submission before posting it on the website, and reserves the right to make changes or refuse a lesson plan.
