NATIONAL REGISTER OF HISTORIC PLACES DEDICATION CEREMONY:
COMMANDANT OF CADETS BUILDING, U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY (LOWRY BUILDING 880)
The Aurora Historic Preservation Commission and the Aurora History Museum present this ceremony to commemorate National Register status for Lowry Building 880.
September 4, 2007 2:00 – 3:30 pm.

Aurora’s historic landmarks tell the story of the City, from a small 19th Century “trolley town” on the fringes of an emerging metropolis, to a growing suburb of the 1950s. Homes, businesses, public buildings and points of interest are the physical memories of Aurora’s rich history.

The history of Aurora, as illustrated by its remaining historic buildings, structures and sites, is a valuable resource that needs to be shared with the community and preserved for the future. The Aurora City Council created the Historic Preservation Commission in 1985 to assist residents in the preservation of unique community assets, both archaeological and historical.
