Artist: Chris Weed Title: Unglued Media: Powder coated steel Date: 2007 Funding: 2004 Chair Affair Gala sponsored by Commerce Bank & through an Urban Renewal Division Community Development Block Grant Location: East Colfax Avenue and Dallas Street Funded by the Chair Affair Gala, Unglued was created to be humorous and thought provoking. The Chair Affair was a multi-year community art project launched in 2003 by Original Aurora Renewal and its Cultural Arts Action Team, a group of local artists that worked to advance the emerging arts district. Community members created more than 200 miniature and life-size chairs, which were sold at an auction during Original Aurora Renewal’s 2004 Chair Affair Gala.
