Artist: Lawrence Argent
Title: Ghost Trolley
Media: Cast fiberglass
Date: 2007
Funding: 1% Art in Public Places Ordinance
& Urban Renewal Community Development Block Grant
Location: East Colfax Avenue between Elmira and Emporia streets

Ghost Trolley is a whimsical and modern transformation of the historic streetcar that made Colfax Avenue a major transportation artery for Aurora. It is designed so that at one line of sight, while traveling on East Colfax Avenue, one would notice that the trolley appears full-scale and full width. The image of the trolley car connects the past, present, and future with the simple imagery of the vanished but not forgotten trolley.
