Artist: Ivan Kosta
Title: I Have a Dream
Media: stainless & powder coated steel
Date: 2004
Funding: 1% Art in Public Places Ordinance
Location: MLK, Jr. Library & Municipal Services Center, 9898 E. Colfax Avenue

The sculpture, depicting an open book with windblown pages on which black and white children are joining hands, relates to the principles of the writings, speeches, and life of Martin Luther King, Jr. Conceptually, the artist drew his inspiration from King’s dream that “…one day little black boys and black girls will be able to join hands with little white boys and little white girls and walk together as sisters and brothers.” Find out more about Colfax Avenue at www.colfaxavenue.com.
