Artist: Susan Cooper
Title: Colors
Media: backlit murals (Lexan & vinyl)
Date: 2005
Funding: Community Development Block Grant received by City Urban Renewal Division
Location: Aurora’s East End Arts District, Pacific Loan & Jewelry Co., 9700 E. Colfax Avenue

These seven backlit murals, each a different hue, portray the art forms of music, photography, cinema, jewelry making, visual arts, literary arts, and theater. Collectively they create a striking rainbow effect visible to both motorists and pedestrians.

This public art project is one of five significant public art projects totaling more than $200,000 that will be installed by the summer of 2007 in the Arts District, a 16-block area located generally along the historic commercial corridor from Clinton to Geneva Streets on East Colfax Avenue.
