	The Aurora Police Department is committed to Community Policing, a philosophy that promotes a close cooperation between citizens and the police department through communication and interaction. Volunteers are an essential part of community policing and are a priority at the Aurora Police Department. With the help of Volunteers In Policing (VIPs), the police department personnel can dedicate more time to reducing crime. How do I become a volunteer?
To become a volunteer with the Aurora Police Department you must be a legal resident of the Untied States, 18 years of age and pass a background check. Volunteers must adhere to the dress code and Policies and Procedures pertaining to the department employees. We invite you to join us in our “Community Commitment”.
