The Development Services Department serves as the central contact for the coordination of economic development efforts, urban renewal projects, and building inspections and permitting needs.

 

Aurora Business Development Center

Provides assistance for start-up and existing businesses throughout the City of Aurora in the areas of:

  • Business Plan writing
  • Financial planning
  • Training programs
  • Small Business Loan programs
  • Expert Consulting in the areas of law, accounting and marketing

Building Permits and Inspections

The Building Division is responsible for assuring that buildings in the city meet all safety and Building Code requirements. Contact the Building Division at 303-739-7420 bldginsp@auroragov.org for information on:

  • Building additions
  • Patios and decks
  • Fireplace installation
  • Furnace or hot water heater replacement, or similar projects
  • Determining if a project needs a permit or how to obtain a permit

Economic Development

Aurora’s economic development efforts are carried out jointly by the City of Aurora and the Aurora Economic Development Council, the city’s public/private partner.

   

Urban Renewal Division

Promoting ongoing and future development and redevelopment projects in the city’s three urban renewal areas
