BUILDING CODES ORDINANCE:

City Code Buildings and Building Regulations

City code is codified on a quarterly basis. Specific administrative fees have been removed from ordinance.

For Homeowners:

When a building permit has been issued for any construction within the City, the homeowner listed on the permit carries the responsibility and liability for all of the construction work and for ensuring that all facets of the project conform to the applicable regulations and code provisions of the City of Aurora. Types of inspections will vary depending on the scope of work. The order they are called for is important. Our staff will assist you with questions, or you can request a consultation with one of our inspectors. Homeowner Agreement and Statement of Understanding

The Finance Department, specifically Tax and Licensing has a handout called the Tax Guideline for Building Permit. This will answer many questions you may have regarding the use tax that is paid for on a permit.

Municipal Records will have historical records for building permits and/or building plans. Routine or non routine requests can better be answered by the City Clerks office on when to use a Open Records Request.
